Reviews

We decided to try out this speakeasy as it was on our road-trip route. My husband had the burger and chips, I had the chicken sandwich and Macaroni salad. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Service was impeccable. The owner gave us a quick history lesson on the place. We definitely recommend!

We did a late night visit and we didn't know it was a Halloween party that night. The owner was fantastic made us feel welcomed and found us a space to sit even though it was super busy. Staff was great and we we were able to grab late night food the meatballs were amazing. Thank you all!!

Mark the owner did an amazing job of persevering the history or 1933 December 5th when the bar turned from a speak easy to a bar. Great for hockey fans - amazing culture and the bartender is very attentive. Fantastic atmosphere from a seed mill to a probation speak easy to current day watering hole. Amazing time

So happy to have this historic space in the heart of Downtown Utica back open again! Between the cocktails and craft beer list, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Friendly atmosphere with great conversation from the staff and patrons. Cheers!

Didn't eat here, but LOVED the service and atmosphere. Old school tavern that reminded me of what it would have been like in the Speakeasy days. No tvs to distract... everyone actually has to sit and communicate . The bartender was VERY professional and old school...didn't say much when I went but made one feel very comfortable being there and he was on top of everyone's needs. Looking forward to going there again.

A beautiful and charming bar with lots of history within—both the bartender and the owner took the time to point out all the intricate details around us and share stories about the bar and neighbor’s history. It is clear that the bar is a true labor of love by Gerber’s owner, Mark, who fixed it up to revive its former glory. Highly recommend!

I love this tavern. My husband and I stop before the Utica Comets games for a cocktail and I realized I have never openly done a review to spread the word. What a fantastic place. A step back in time with great music you can actually have a conversation with a friend or a group over. The drinks?? Delicious cocktails made the way they should . Bella, out bartender is one of the loveliest, most hardworking tenders out there. Today we had " The Wreck" . It's a delicious salted sesame seeded bun stacked high with top round, horseradish and chips and a pickle. Absolutely outstanding! I really can't recommend it enough!

Friendly staff and great simple food. There was a guy playing guitar, he was pretty good.
